I’m sitting here with my laptop and a cup of coffee…yep I’m addicted. Decaf only though so it doesn’t really do me much good (smile)….not allowed to have caffeine. I’m an 80’s girl. No I don’t have big hair, but I love the music and the movies and I guess it just plain old reminds me of growing up and having fun. I’m a Jesus follower, straight, cisgender woman, and LGBTQ+ affirming ally with a gay son. I’ve been married to my hubby Mike for 34 years. We met during senior week in Ocean City, MD when he squirted me with a water gun. We’ve been together ever since.
We have two children…Kyle (Kai) who is 30 and McKensie who is 28. Time flies! They are both bright, talented, and just generally awesome and I love them to life.
- Kyle AKA Kai
- Kensie girl
I also have four furry children. They are all crazy in their own special way. They keep me smiling and make any bad day better.
- Kimiko the sleepyhead
- Benry the lounge kitty
- Lucy the energetic pooch
- Sadie our new baby
This blog is about my journey…one that was unexpected, but has brought me many blessings. My hope is that my words will speak to anyone out there who find themselves on a similar journey. I don’t have all of the answers and I’m learning as I go along. I am not trying to speak for the LGBTQ+ community. I’m just trying to share what I’ve learned and hope to give you food for thought.
I am an admin to a private FB group of moms of LGBTQ+ kids in the MD/DC/VA area, and the regional leader where I live for Free Mom Hugs – Maryland.
If you feel alone on your journey, contact me…I’d love to make a new friend.
Love matters…
be encouraged girl, If He wants you to blog he will (is) giving you the words.
Love is all there is.
Hi Lesa,
Nice to “meet” you. Came across your blog through Holly Guerth. You’re doing great in sharing your heart. I pray that you experience God’s grace as you deal with “life”. I volunteer at a women’s home and I shared the above scripture last night. It made me smile. I love when God does that. Confirms things to you in unexpected places. Hope we “meet” up again.
Blessings, Diane
Hello Diane,
It’s nice to “meet” you too (smile). Thank you for your encouraging words. It’s hard sometimes to put your heart out there, but I pray that it can help someone. Thank you for the work you do at the women’s home. I’m sure you are changing lives there. May God bless you and your service to those women. Glad the verse made you smile. I love it when He does that too. Thanks for stopping by. Until we “meet” again.
Blessings,
Lesa
Hey girl;
You’re an inspiration. I blogged a while ago (http://cwfabu.wordpress.com/) and had a website (http://fabat50andbeyond.com/home/), both were products of creating a business. As a motivational and seminar junkie I believed that was a calling, motivational speaker. In the five years of investigative research involving much travel I realized “the Circuit” (travel) and being away from Marilyn didn’t align with me or where God wanted me to be.
You’ve seen my posts on FB, but FB is a time swallower and a creativity killer. So inspired by a young lady I know I will be blogging again. Praying about title and concept but I wanted you to know it’s because of Patty and Steve’s ugly duckling and that what ever is produced, I’m blaming you.
LOVE You more than you know;
Irene and Wayne’s kid
That is so cool! I can’t wait to see where God takes you and I look forward to reading it! Love you too :-).
now that’s cool!!!
Your “About” is beautifully written. You are the kind of parent that all parents should be like but few are. God must smile every time he thinks of you I am sure.
Thank you georgiakevin :-). I sure do hope God smiles when He thinks of me. Thanks for stopping by!
