I’m sitting here with my laptop and a cup of coffee…yep I’m addicted. Decaf only though so it doesn’t really do me much good (smile)….not allowed to have caffeine. I’m an 80’s girl. No I don’t have big hair, but I love the music and the movies and I guess it just plain old reminds me of growing up and having fun. I’m a Jesus follower, straight, cisgender woman, and LGBTQ+ affirming ally with a gay son. I’ve been married to my hubby Mike for 33 years. We met during senior week in Ocean City, MD when he squirted me with a water gun. We’ve been together ever since.
I also have four furry children. They are all crazy in their own special way. They keep me smiling and make any bad day better.
This blog is about my journey…one that was unexpected, but has brought me many blessings. My hope is that my words will speak to anyone out there who find themselves on a similar journey. I don’t have all of the answers and I’m learning as I go along. I am not trying to speak for the LGBTQ+ community. I’m just trying to share what I’ve learned and hope to give you food for thought.
I am an admin to a private FB group of moms of LGBTQ+ kids in the MD/DC/VA area, and the regional leader where I live for Free Mom Hugs – Maryland.
If you feel alone on your journey, contact me…I’d love to make a new friend.
1 John 4:7-8 (The Message)
My beloved friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. The person who refuses to love doesn’t know the first thing about God, because God is love—so you can’t know Him if you don’t love.
